# Cancel subscriptions

Subscriptions can be cancelled by either **providers** or **customers** at any time. The cancellation process and its effects depend on the **subscription pricing model**.

## **Cancelling a subscription as a provider**

Providers can cancel a subscription on behalf of a customer for any reason, including fraudulent use.

**To cancel a subscription:**

1. **Navigate to the** [**Veriam App**](https://admin.myveriam.com)**.**
2. **Find the subscription to cancel:**
   * Go to *Subscriptions* and search for the correct subscription.
   * Open the subscription details page and select *Cancel*.
   * You can also navigate to the **customer account**, view their subscriptions, and cancel from there.
3. **Confirm the cancellation.**

Once confirmed, the **customer account administrators** and the **subscription billing contact** will receive an email notification about the cancellation.

## **Effective date & billing after cancellation**

The **effective cancellation date** and **billing impact** depend on the subscription’s **pricing model**:

* **Free plans:**
  * The subscription is cancelled **immediately**.
  * No additional charges apply.
* **One-time cost plans:**
  * The subscription is cancelled **immediately**.
  * No additional charges apply.
* **Flat-fee plans:**
  * Payments are made **in advance**.
  * The subscription is updated to **"non-renewing"** status.
  * The subscription **remains active** until the end of the billing cycle.
  * At the end of the cycle, it **automatically cancels**, and access is revoked.
  * No additional charges apply.
* **Per-user recurring plans:**
  * Payments are made **in arrears** (after usage).
  * The subscription is cancelled **immediately**.
  * The customer’s **card on file is charged** immediately for the outstanding usage in the current billing cycle (prorated).
