Account security

You can manage the security of your Veriam account in the Customer Portal:

Setup Multi-Factor Authentication

You can configure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) options for your Veriam account.

Require MFA on all logins

On Veriam, you can set MFA to always be required for your own account for all providers you log in to using your Veriam account. This ensures the highest level of security for your account.

Enable MFA on all logins:

  • On the Customer Portal in the Account security section:

  • Click on the toggle next to the Email OTP option to enable it.

Managing MFA requirement

  • A second authentication will now be required for all login with your Veriam account.

  • You can reset or remove this requirement from here at any time.

Biometrics

Veriam allows you to use biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) as a multi-factor authentication (MFA) method.

Step 1: Start the Setup

  1. On the Customer Portal in the Account security section:

  2. Click "Setup biometrics" under the MFA section

Step 2: Enable Biometrics on Your Device

  1. If you haven’t already, ensure biometrics (fingerprint or facial recognition) is enabled on your device.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your biometric data.

    • On desktop: This may prompt Windows Hello (Windows) or Touch ID (Mac).

    • On mobile: It will use your device's built-in biometric authentication.

Step 3: Verify and Complete Setup

  1. Authenticate using your registered biometric method when prompted.

  2. Once verified, you will see a confirmation message that biometrics is now enabled.

Managing Biometric Authentication

  • Your biometric MFA option is now enabled and will be required at your next login.

  • You can reset or remove biometric authentication from here at any time.

Time-based One-time Password (TOTP)

To enable TOTP authentication using an authenticator app:

Step 1: Start the Setup

  1. On the Customer Portal in the Account security section:

  2. Click "Set Up Authentication" under the MFA section.

  1. A screen will appear with a QR code.

  2. Open your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator).

  3. Scan the QR code using your app.

  4. Your app will now display a 6-digit code labeled for Veriam.

Step 3: Verify and Complete Setup

  1. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

  2. Click "Verify and Complete Setup".

Step 4: Secure Your Backup Codes

  • If the code is correct, you will receive a set of backup codes.

  • Store these codes securely—each can be used once to log in if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Managing TOTP Authentication

  • Your TOTP MFA option is now enabled and will be required at your next login.

  • You can reset or remove TOTP authentication from the same settings page where it was enabled.

Email One-time Pin (OTP)

Veriam allows you to use Email One-Time Pin (OTP) as a multi-factor authentication (MFA) method. Each time you log in, a unique 6-digit code will be sent to your registered email for verification.

Enable Email OTP:

  1. On the Customer Portal in the Account security section:

  2. Click on the toggle next to the Email OTP option to enable it.

Managing Email OTP Authentication

  • Your Email OTP MFA option is now enabled and will be required at your next login.

  • You can reset or remove Email OTP authentication from here at any time.

Change password

To change the password you use to access your Veriam account, click the ‘Change’ button next to the password field.

Note that you can only change your password if you have registered a password with your account.

  1. Fill in your current password and the new password.

  2. Click the ‘Set password’ button. Your password will now be changed.

For all future logins, use your new password.

Remove connected accounts

If you have connected accounts (such as Google, Microsoft, or SSO), you can manage them from the Connected Accounts section in your profile. To remove a linked account, simply click the "Remove" button next to it.

This action disconnects the external account from your Veriam account, meaning you will no longer be able to log in using that method. If you remove all external accounts, you will only be able to log in with your email and password.

To reconnect an account, log in again using that external provider. If your email matches your Veriam account, the connection will be re-established automatically.

Review recent sessions

Your user profile shows an overview of all recent sessions. This can be used to investigate suspicious behaviour on your account. The overview will show all sessions of the past month.

You can also end active sessions from here.

Review login history

All of your login history can also be viewed from your profile. This overview shows you all information regarding your login transactions, for all the organizations you are (or have been) a member of.
